Treasure Chest Thursday -- 1661 Birth Record of John Mainord (1661-1731) in Marlborough, Massachusetts

It's Treasure Chest Thursday - a chance to look in my digital image files to see what treasures I can find for my family history and genealogy musings.

The treasure today is the 1661 birth entry for John Mainord  in the Marlborough, Massachusetts vital records book:

The death entry is the 17th entry in the Mainord listings:

The transcription of this record is:

"[MAINORD]" [Mayner, M.R.], John, s. John Sr. and Mary, Jsn. 7, 1661."

The source citation for this record is:

Franklin P. Rice (editor), Vital Records of Marlborough, Massachusetts, to the End of the Year 1849 (Boston, Mass. : Franklin P. Rice ,1908), Births, page 125, John Mainord entry, 7 January 1661.

This is an entry in a published Marlborough, Massachusetts vital record book.  It is a Derivative Source with Primary Information and Direct Evidence of the birth of John Mainord on 7 January 1661 in Marlborough, Massachusetts Bay.  The "M.R.' refers to a Middlesex County Registry book from which the record was transcribed.  The surname in the registry book was "Mayner."

John Mainord (1661-1731) was the son of John and Mary (Gates) Mainord of Marlborough.  He married Lydia Ward (1665-1740) in about 1688 in Marlborough.  They are my 7th great-grandparents through their son James Maynard (1694-????) who married Mary Mores (1697-????) in 1719 in Marlborough.
