4)  NOTES (with source citations as indicated in brackets):

David Bathrick was born in about 1722 in Cambridge, Middlesex County, Massachusetts Bay, the first of three children of John and Mary (--?--) Bathrick of Cambridge.  There is no birth record for David in Cambridge or any other town.  His mother died in about 1726, and his father married, secondly, to Elizabeth Godding in 1727, and thirdly to Ruth Hook in 1747.

David married at age 20 to Lydia Maynard (1722-1802) on 12 May 1742 in Westborough, Worcester County, Massachusetts Bay[1-2].  Lydia was the daughter of James and Mary (Morse) Mynard of Westborough.  They had seven children, all born and recorded in Westborough town records:

*  Solomon Bathrick (1746-1824), married 1778 Thankful Howe (1750-1825).
*  Anna Batherick (1748-????), married 1772 Richard Barnes (1747-1815).
*  Jonathan Batherick (1749-1825), married 1769 Abigail Battle (1750-1786).
*  Mindwell Bathrick (1751-1789)
*  Lydia Bathrick (1752-1795), married 1779 Phinehas Brigham (1755-1802).
*  David Bathrick (1754-1794).
*  Stephen Bathrick (1757-1846), married 1788 Patty Bond (1769-1859).

On 20 March 1747, Thomas Forbush, gentleman of Westborough, sold three tracts of  land in Westborough for £120 in bills of credit to David Bathrick, joyner of Westborough[3]. The tracts of land totaled ten and a half acres in Westborough;  eight acres bounded southerly by land of Thomas Forbush, Daniel Warren, on a highway, westerly by Thomas Forbush; two acres  are on Chaney's plain, bounded southerly by a highway, northerly and westerly by Thomas Forbush; also one acre on the east end of Chaney's plain, bounded southerly  by a highway, northerly on Cedar Swamp, and easterly by Daniel Warren.  The deed was recorded on 10 May 1748.

David Bathrick died at age 72 on 4 August 1794 in Westborough[4-5]. There is no known burial location or extant gravestone.

David Bathrick died intestate and his estate papers are in Worcester County Probate Records, in estate file 4414[6].  The estate papers included:

*  On 8 September 1794, Solomon Bathrick, Jonathan Bathrick and David Batherick posted £500 bond, and Solomon Bathrick was appointed administrator of the estate by the probate court judge.

*  An inventory of the estate was taken by Nathan Fisher, Thomas Andrews and Samuel Forbush on 24 September 1794.  There was no real estate (apparently, it had been sold or given to his children over time).  The personal inventory totaled £8-9-7.

*  On 7 October, Solomon Bathrick charged himself with the inventory and paid debts, costs and charges, and £5-5-7 was left.  The probate court awarded the balance  to the widow, Lydia Bathrick.

NOTE:  This genealogical sketch is out of Ahnentafel order because I found new information linking Sophia Newton to her birth father, Lambert Brigham.

NOTE: In 2014, Amy Johnson Crow suggested a weekly blog theme of "52 Ancestors" in her blog post 52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks on the No Story Too Small blog. I have extended this theme in 2021 for an eighth year to 416 Ancestors in 416 Weeks. The (incomplete) list of 52 Ancestors biographies from my great-grandparents to the 7th great-grandparents (in work) is in https://www.geneamusings.com/p/ancestor-biographies.html.
