Here are the highlights of my family history and genealogy related activities over the past week.
1) Hosted and moderated the Chula Vista Genealogical Society Research Group Meeting on Wednesday on Zoom. I discussed the recent genealogy industry news (not much), the WikiTree symposium, and RootsTech 2023 opportunities. Also, my own work - finding the Martin Carringer farm site, genealogy file maintenance, and the Best of the Genea-Blogs series.
2) Attended the San Diego Genealogical Society British Isles Interest Group Meeting on Zoom on Saturday. Colin Whitney presented "Early Modern Records of the BI."
3) Attended the Whittier Area Genealogical Society (WAGS) on Saturday to watch Jane Neff Rollins' presentation on "A Picture Is Worth 1000 Words: Dating Your Early 20th Century Photographs."
4) Published a genealogy biography for the 52 Ancestors series for 7th great-grandmother #721 Mary (Dolberry) Wade (1677-a1720) of Boston and Medford, Massachusetts, and Providence, Rhode Island.
9) Used Web Hints and Record Matches from Ancestry, MyHeritage, Findmypast and FamilySearch to add content and source citations to my RootsMagic profiles. I now have 70,076 persons in my RootsMagic file (up 15 from 10 October), and 145,423 source citations (up 5). I TreeShared 80 new or modified profiles with my Ancestry Member Tree, and I resolved 155 Ancestry Hints. My Ancestry Member Tree has Ancestry Record Hints with 175,617 to be resolved, but I work on them several times a week. My MyHeritage family trees have 200,305 Record Matches in 286 sources and I work on them occasionally.
10) Wrote 15 Genea-Musings blog posts last week (Sunday through Saturday), of which two were a press release. The most viewed post last week was Genealogy Pot-Pourri - Week Ending 10 October 2022 with over 192 views. Genea-Musings had about 10,100 views last week.
