Seavers in the News -- Thomas L. Seaver Dies in 1969 in Hamilton County, Ohio

Here is this week's edition of "Seavers in the News" - a weekly feature from the historical newspapers about persons with the surname Seaver that are interesting, useful, mysterious, fun, macabre, or add information to my family tree database.

This week's entry is from The Cincinnati [Ohio] Enquirer newspaper dated 22 December 1969, page 31:

This obituary identifies his name, day of death, his wife's married name and his children's names (identified as "Weaver" rather than "Seaver") names.  There is no birth date or location, no parent's names, no occupation, no affiliations, and no cause of death information.

Thomas Lemuel Seaver (1900-1969) was born 7 May 1900 in Indiana, the son of Lemuel and Henrietta (Raney) Seaver.  He died 21 December 1969 in Hamilton County, Ohio.  He married Carrie Lois Poston  (1898-1994 on 27 November 1919 in Switzerland County, Indiana.  They had four children:

* Olive Elizabeth Seaver (1921-????), married 1939 Russell Burdette Weaver (1917-2001).
*  Warren Thomas Seaver (1923-1985), married 1942 Helen Irene Smith (1923-2015).
*  Howard Poston Seaver (1926-????), married Dorothy L. Edwards (1928-2022).
*  Joseph Elsberry Seaver (1935-2022), married Connie Lynn Hall (1938-????).

I am not related to Thomas Lemuel Seaver.  He is a descendant of Johan Wilbert and Catherine (Peck) Siebert.

There are over 10,000 Seaver "stories" in my family tree - and this was one of them.   Life happens, accidentally and intentionally, and sometimes a person has a very short obituary.  I am glad that I can honor Thomas Lemuel Seaver today.

You never know when a descendant or relative will find this blog post and learn something about their ancestors or relatives, or will provide more information about them to me.
