Seavers in the News -- Amory D. Seaver Dies in 1972 in Lyndonville, Vermont

Here is this week's edition of "Seavers in the News" - a weekly feature from the historical newspapers about persons with the surname Seaver that are interesting, useful, mysterious, fun, macabre, or add information to my family tree database.

This week's entry is from The Burlington [Vt.] Free Press newspaper dated 25 August 1972, page 8:

The transcription of the article is:

This obituary identifies his name, residence, age, date and place of death, names of his wife, daughter, son, stepmother, and occupation, but no education, military or association information.

Amory Davison Seaver (1893-1972) was born 15 July 1893 in Barton, Vermont, the son of Harley True and Anna Amanda (Davison) Seaver.  He died 23 August 1972 in Lyndonville, Vermont.  Amory married Marion Cheney Bickford (1891-19810 on 28 June 1919 in Barton, Vermont.  They had two children:

*  John Davison Seaver (1920-2016), married 1943 Gloria Elinor Dyer (1923-1999).
*  Mary Louise Seaver (1925-2013), married John Wesley Kiplinger (1923-1995).

Amory Davison Seaver (1893-1972) is my 7th cousin 3 times removed.  Our common Seaver ancestor is Robert Seaver (1608-1683).

There are over 10,000 Seaver "stories" in my family tree - and this was one of them.   Life happens, accidentally and intentionally, and sometimes a person has a relatively short obituary. I am glad that I can honor Amory Davison Seaver today.

You never know when a descendant or relative will find this blog post and learn something about their ancestors or relatives, or will provide more information about them to me.
