Best of the Genea-Blogs - Week of 9 to 15 April 2023

Scores of genealogy and family history bloggers write hundreds of posts every week about their research, their families, and their interests. I appreciate each one of them and their efforts.

My criteria for "Best of ..." are pretty simple - I pick posts that advance knowledge about genealogy and family history, address current genealogy issues, provide personal family history, are funny or are poignant. I don't list posts destined for daily blog prompts or meme submissions (but I do include summaries of them), or my own posts.

Here are my picks for great reads from the genealogy blogs for this past week:

*  Finding the Old Home Place with Zillow – 52 Ancestors #394 by Roberta Estes on DNAeXplained - Genetic Genealogy.

*  The Relationship Predictor Comparison: A First Peek by Leah Larkin on The DNA Geek.

*  My Cousin Found my Great Great Grandfather’s Scrapbook (circa 1895-1905) by Heather Wilkinson Rojo on Nutfield Genealogy.

*  The story of my maternal great grandaunt – Charlotte Milne born in Scotland 1854 by Diane Gould Hall on Michigan Family Trails.

*  When new information comes to light…and changes everything… by Teresa on Writing My Past.

*  Five good and bad ways to use ChatGPT for genealogy by Yvette Hoitink on Dutch Genealogy.

*  Using Segment Sizes in DNA Relationship Predictions by Kitty Cooper on Kitty Cooper's Blog.

What Does Your Surname Mean? by Maddy on Family Wise.

*  Bite-Sized Ancestor Bios: Ideas from #GenChat by Marian B. Wood on Climbing My Family Tree.

Here are pick posts by other geneabloggers this week:

Friday's Family History Finds by Linda Stufflebean on Empty Branches on the Family Tree.

*  Friday Fossicking 14th April 2023 by Crissouli on That Moment In Time.

This Week's Creme de la  Creme - April 15, 2023 by Gail Dever on Genealogy a la Carte.

Readers are encouraged to go to the blogs listed above and  read their articles, and add the blogs to your Favorites, Feedly, another RSS feed, or email if you like what you read. Please make a comment to them also - all bloggers appreciate feedback on what they write.

Did I miss a great genealogy blog post? Tell me! I currently am reading posts from over 900 genealogy bloggers using Feedly, but I still miss quite a few it seems.
