HILLSBOROUGH, SS.

At a Court of Probate for the County of Hillsborough, holden at Manchester in said County:
on the 15th day of April A.D. 1913.
The foregoing instrument, purporting to be the last will of Charles W. Seaver late
of Bedford in said County, deceased, having been presented for Probate, in common form
by Sarah A. P. Seaver the executrix therein named

It appears to me, the Judge of Probate for said County, by the testimony in Court of
Allan M. Wilson, one of the
witnesses whose names are in the said instrument subscribed, that at the time of execution thereof the said deceased was more than twenty-one years of age, and of sane mind, that he did sign, seal, and publish the same as his last will and that the said Allan M. Wilson with Henry E. Burnham and Reed Paige Clark   attested and subscribed the same together as witnesses to the execution thereof, in the presence of said testator.  It is therefore decreed, that the said instrument be, and it is hereby proved, approved and allowed as the last will of  said testator.

The Ancestry.com collection of Hillsborough County, New Hampshire probate records is limited.  No letters of administration, inventories, accounts or distributions are available.  On FamilySearch, the probate case files are available for browsing, but there appears to be no index of the case files in this time period to help determine the case number for a specific person.

Charles W. Seaver (1844-1913) is probably a distant cousin of mine; his grandfather is John Seaver (1778-1841) who married Susanna Trumbull.   I have not been able to find parents for John Seaver (1778-1841).

NOTE: Genea-blogger John Newmark (who writes the excellent TransylvanianDutch blog) started a Monday blog theme years ago called "Amanuensis Monday." John offers this definition for "amanuensis:"

"A person employed to write what another dictates or to copy what has been written by another."
