I looked in my digital image files to see what treasures I can find for my family history and genealogy musings for Treasure Chest Thursday.
The treasure today is an 1872 baptismal certificate for three children of Elijah Pickrell and Jane (Whittle) McKnew in Jeffersonville, Tuolumne County, California:
This is to Certify

W.H. Dyer (Rector of St. James Protestant Episcopal Church, Sonora, Calif.), Jeffersonville, Tuolumne County, California Methodist Church Baptism Certificate, Allethia Jane, Alfred Henry and Henry Lee McKnew baptism certificate, 11 August 1872.
This record was found in the papers of my wife's parents, and is now in the possession of Paul Leland, my wife's brother. This is an original source, with primary information and direct evidence of the baptism of the three children of Elijah and Jane McKnew.
Elijah Pickrell McKnew (1836-1912) married Jane Whittle (1847-1921) on 12 November 1865 in Tuolumne County, California. They had 11 children. This baptism record is for their first three children:
* Allethia Jane McKnew (1867-1959), married (1) 1887 John William Runnels (1859-1912), and (2) circa 1912 John F. Harper (1862-1946).
* Alfred Rodney McKnew (1869-1943), married 1889 Alice G. McCann (1872-1936).
* Henry Lee McKnew (1870-1934), married circa 1892 Anna Marie Goff (1872-1958).
My wife, Linda Joan (Leland) Seaver is the granddaughter of Edna Catherine McKnew (1884-1974), the 8th child of Elijah and Jane (Whittle) McKnew.
