Seavers in the News -- George F. Seaver (1890-2975) Dies in St. Louis, Missouri in 1975

  Here is this week's edition of "Seavers in the News" - a weekly feature from the historical newspapers about persons with the surname Seaver that are interesting, useful, mysterious, fun, macabre, or add information to my family tree database.

This week's entry is from The St. Louis [Mo.] Post-Dispatch newspaper dated 2 September 1975, page 51:

The transcription of the article is:

This obituary identifies his age, his death date, his wife's name, his children's names and residences, and his Masonic connections, but nothing about his birth date and place, parents names, education, occupation, and other associations.

George Franklin Seaver (1890-1975) was born 25 August 1890 in Clark County, Missouri, the son of John A. and Frances Louise (Phillips) Seaver.  He died 31 August 1975 in St. Louis.  George married Mary Mathila McCord (1889-1968) before 1914, probably in St. Louis.  They had three children:

*  Marjorie Jane Seaver (1914-1993), married Henry V. Burns (1911-1988).
*  Mary Louise Seaver (1922-????)
*  George Franklin Seaver (1929-????), married 1952 Phyllis Ann White (1931-1999) in Kansas City, Missouri.

I am not related to George Franklin Seaver (1890-1975).  He is descended from Henry and Elizabeth (--?--) Seaver of Germany and Virginia.

There are over 10,000 Seaver "stories" in my family tree - and this was one of them.   Life happens, accidentally and intentionally, and sometimes a person has a rather sparse obituary.  I am glad that I can honor George Franklin Seaver today.

You never know when a descendant or relative will find this blog post and learn something about their ancestors or relatives, or will provide more information about them to me.
