Seavers in the News -- Death Notice of Clayton F. Seaver (1927-1978) of Holbrook, Massachusetts.

 Here is this week's edition of "Seavers in the News" - a weekly feature from the historical newspapers about persons with the surname Seaver that are interesting, useful, mysterious, fun, macabre, or add information to my family tree database.

This week's entry is from The Patriot-Ledger [Quincy, Mass.] newspaper dated Monday, 17 April 1978, page 4, Column 2:

This death notice provides a full summary of Carlton F. Seaver's family and services, but provides no information about his occupation, associations, accomplishments, and life experiences.

Clayton Frederick Seaver (1927-1978) was born 7 April 1927 in Quincy, Massachusetts, the son of Alton Linwood and Mary Elizabeth (Amirault) Seaver.   He died 16 April 1978 in Holbrook, Massachusetts.  Carlton married (1) Winifred Emily Sutton (1923-1979) in April 1945 in Bilston, Staffordshire, England.  They had three children:

*  Geraldine Winfred Seaver (1945-2006), married Joseph A. Ragusa (1944-2008).
*  Clayton Frederick Seaver (1946-2003), married about 1970 Delcie Vivian Taylor (1948-????).
*  Patricia Joan Seaver (1949-1996), married (1) 1978  --?-- McQueen and (2) 1996 Edward Lawrence Geary.

Clayton married (2) Marilyn J. Smith (1936-????), as her second marriage.  The McNeil children on the death notice are her children by her first marriage.

Clayton Frederick Seaver (1927-1978) is  probably a distant cousin of mine with a common Seaver ancestor of Robert Seaver (1608-1683), but I don't know the parents of his 2nd great-grandfather Joseph T. Seaver (1805-????).

There are over 10,000 Seaver "stories" in my family tree - and this is one of them.   Life happens, accidentally and intentionally, and sometimes a person's death notice is pretty sparse with little about the person's occupation, associations, or accomplishments.  I am glad that I can honor Clayton Frederick Seaver today.

You never know when a descendant or relative will find this blog post and learn something about their ancestors or relatives, or will provide more information about them to me.
