Here are the highlights of my family history and genealogy related activities over the past week.
1) Hosted and moderated the Chula Vista Genealogical Society (CVGS) Research Group Board Meeting on Wednesday with 16 in attendance. We discussed additons to Full-Text Search, The Hollywood Strangler book, RootsTech 2025, genealogy software, my interview, AI questions, and research goals..
2) Attended the San Diego Genealogical Society Program Meeting on Zoom on Saturday with Brian Rhinehart presenting two excellent talks on Civil War and War of 1812 pension research.
3) Participated in Mondays With Myrt on Monday, and we discussed AI transcription and translation, AI class videos, my AI post page, and the new Google NotebookLM feature.
4) Transcribed the 1892 Mortgage Discharge of James A. Kemp for Land in Middleton Township, Norfolk County, Ontario for the Amanuensis Monday theme.
7) Worked in the new Google NotebookLM AI tool that can summarize and analyze a text document and produce a "Paper to Podcast" audio file. Wrote Betty (Carringer) Seaver's Life Summary, Chat Q&A and Audio Overview Using the Google NotebookLM AI Feature.
