Seavers in the News -- 1980 Obituary of Earl F. Seaver of Akron, Ohio

Here is this week's edition of "Seavers in the News" - a weekly feature from the historical newspapers about persons with the surname Seaver that are interesting, useful, mysterious, fun, macabre, or add information to my family tree database.

This week's entry is from The Akron Beacon-Journal newspaper dated Sunday, 25 May 1980, Page 37, Column 6:

This obituary provides a good summary of the living family of Harold W. Seaver, along with his employment, military service, and associations.

Earl Franklin Seaver (1899-1980) was born 11 February 1899 in Akron, Ohio, the son of Orrin Dalson and Jennie Hannah (Hites) Seaver.  He died 23 May 1980 in Akron, Ohio.  Earl married Augusta Wilhelmina Kramer (1900-1989) on 25 September 1920 in Akron, Ohio.  The had two children:

*  Richard Henry Seaver (1922-1991), married 1967 Esther Betty Thomas (1926-1996).
*  Kenneth Eugene Seaver (1924-1978), married 1944 Helen Zofchak (1925-1985).

Earl Franklin Seaver (1899-1980) is not a Seaver cousin to my knowledge - he is descended from Christian A. and Lydia (Kissinger) Seaver who married in Stark County, ohio in 1838.

There are over 10,000 Seaver "stories" in my family tree - and this is one of them.   Life happens, accidentally and intentionally, and sometimes a person has an excellent obituary with detailed information.  I am glad that I can honor Earl Franklin Seaver today.

You never know when a descendant or relative will find this blog post and learn something about their ancestors or relatives, or will provide more information about them to me.
