Are You Reading "The Examiner" Genealogy Columns?

The Examiner is a national digital news and information outlet that has columnists on many subjects, including local and national events, and on topics like sports, religion and even genealogy. They are looking for more writers - see the About page here.

I've found seven genealogy oriented columnists so far --

* Thomas MacEntee is the Genealogy and Technology Examiner (in the Gadgets and Tech category).

* Michael Hait is the African-American Genealogy Examiner (in the Neighborhoods and Culture category)

* Russell Cornelius is the Salt Lake City Genealogy Examiner (in the Religion and Spirituality category)

* Kathryn Seibold is the Dallas Genealogy Examiner (in the Games and Hobbies category)

* Kathy Friberg is the Minnesota Genealogy Examiner (in the Games and Hobbies category)

* Meri Rees is the NY Genealogy Examiner (in the Games and Hobbies category)

* Susan E. King is the Genealogy Examiner (in the Religion and Spirituality category)

There may be others that I haven't found yet!

As you can see, there are "national" Examiners and "local" Examiners. This would be a great opportunity for researchers to write about genealogy research and local history in their home location.

All are posting interesting articles on genealogy topics. Susan's last article, Disconnected in life, disconnected in death, no more, is about Megan Smolenyak Smolenyak and her work with the U.S. Army and Unclaimed Persons, in addition to her work as Chief Family Historian for Ancestry.com and one of the principals in RootsTelevision.

A reader can subscribe to any Examiner column via email delivery. However, the emails do not include all of the column content - only the first few sentences. Frankly, this frustrates me because it takes much less time to read the whole article in my email than it does to click on the link and read it online. There is an RSS feed (but only to Google Reader) for these columns.

UPDATED 9:30 p.m.: Found several more and added them to thel ist!
