Interesting genea-tweets... you can't make this stuff up!

From recent Twitter feeds... I don't follow any of these folks!

AndySDavies good grief it's warm, my welsh ancestory isn't designed for these tempretures, then you add in the English, Scottish and Scandinavian!

Yoli7794 If you trace your family tree back 25 generations, you will have 33,554,432 direct ancestors - assuming no incest was involved. #randomfact

shotgunconcepts interesting to think about @jeffpulver's idea that future generations will use your web statuses as geneology research about you #140conf

I thought that my readers would be interested in seeing what is being posted on Twitter these days. This was a selection using keywords, and I tried not to include offensive tweets. All misspellings are not mine! There is some wisdom and humor on Twitter about genealogy, but also some fairly disgusting and useless chatter. I like the last one best!

Wonder how many minutes it took the guy to trace 3 generations back to the 14th century.

It was these kind of tweets that caused me to wipe out on last week's 52 Weeks to Better Genealogy Challenge on using Twitter. Twitter just makes no sense to me at all and these posts prove it! Thanks, Randy. I feel normal again.

Every once in a while I think I should join Twitter. Then I think maybe not. Guess which way I'm leaning today...

Oh Randy, what a hoot! I use Twitter all the time for genealogy and have never seen such good stuff. I will have to check more often.

There are stupid people in every group or on every website. So you can't judge the tweets of a few stupid people as if they apply to the entire website. With all the useless chatter that does go on, there is a lot of great information too. I love sharing links with people or posting my research problems. Other genealogists are so nice and always willing to help or offer a suggestion. The beauty of Twitter is that I can get a reply within minutes.
