This week's Tuesday's Tip is to: Check out the FamilySearch TechTips blog (https://www.familysearch.org/techtips/) for tips on learning about, purchasing, and using technology tools for your genealogy research.
There are six tabs across the top menu:
* How To's and Tips (with categories of Collaborating with Others, Managing Your Data, Working with Digital Media, Researching Online, Photography, Using Mobile Devices for Genealogy, Staying Safe, and Accessing the Internet)
* Learn About (with categories of File formats, Mapping and GeoLocation, Preservation, Scientific Research and Social Media)
* Apps and Tools (with categories of Browser Plug-Ins, Email Add-ons, Image Tools, Mac Apps, Phone apps, Printing Utilities, Web Apps and Windows Apps)
* Learn How To Buy (with categories of Scanners, Cameras and Lenses, Computers, GPS Devices, Mobile Devices and Tablets, Printers, and Storage Media)
* Viewpoint
* Contribute
There are over 230 articles in the database now, posted over the past 15 months. These articles are written by genealogy bloggers (including James Tanner and Denise Barrett Olson) and FamilySearch staff.
Having recently bought both an iPhone and an Android tablet, I found the articles on mobile devices and apps to be very helpful and informative.
If you are interested in Technology as it applies to genealogy research, I urge you to add FamilySearch TechTips to your blog reader.
