Randy, could it be? Could you and I be (distantly) related? Have you ever checked out my Hawkins ancestors? I'm going to send you an invite to my tree (check your Twitter DM), but meanwhile, take a look here http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~markfreeman/hawkins.html and here http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~hawkinsdnaproject/ Look specifically at the family pages on this one.
I know you're at Rootstech, but let me know what you think once you've had a chance to look. :)

If you haven't yet, you should get a look at the new book on the family of Thomas Arnold, the father of your Eleazer: Richard H. Benson, The Arnold Family of Smithfield, Rhode Island (Boston: Newbury Street Press, 2009). There is a review of this book in NEHGR 163:237.
