BCG OFFERS FREE WEBINAR Tuesday, 17 April 2018, 8:00 p.m. Eastern

“Better Together: Making Your Case with Documents and DNA” by Patti Lee Hobbs, CG

The genealogical proof standard requires reasonably exhaustive research in solving ancestral-identity problems. DNA evidence is now often part of that research. Even the best DNA evidence must be combined with some traditional research. This webinar will show different ways that genealogical problems have been solved by integrating DNA evidence with the paper trail.

The Board for Certification of Genealogists (BCG) will present “Better Together: Making Your Case with Documents and DNA” by Patti Lee Hobbs, CG free to the public at 8:00 p.m. EDT, 17 April 2018.

Patti Lee Hobbs, Certified Genealogist®, with a BA in biology, works as a professional genealogist and occasionally at the Springfield-Greene County Library in Springfield, Missouri. Patti instructs on the use and analysis of DNA testing and how it complements traditional research in original records. Patti has presented numerous workshops on DNA locally and regionally as well as at the week-long “Practical Genetic Genealogy” course at the Genealogical Research Institute of Pittsburgh. Patti serves as a Board for Certification of Genealogists trustee, a BCG Education Fund trustee, the chair of the Ozarks Genealogical Society Education Committee. She is the course coordinator for IGHR’s “Genetics for Genealogists: Beginning DNA.”

President Rick Sayre, CG, CGL, FUGA says, “Every month the Board for Certification of Genealogists offers a new webinar as part of an ongoing series that supports our mission to provide education for family historians. These webinars are presented by certified associates and offer a quality genealogical educational experience. The board promotes excellence in research and working to standards in an ethical manner.”
