Monday Genea-Pourri - 4 March 2019

Here is a summary of my family history and genealogy related activities over the past week:

1)  Attended the Chula Vista Genealogical Society general meeting on Wednesday at the library, with 23 in attendance.  CVGS member John Finch presented "Between the World Wars."  He reviewed what led up to World War I, the events during World War I, and the world events over the next 21 years.

2)  I did not go to RootsTech 2019 SLC this year, but I did try to keep tabs on it through watching the livestream feed, receiving the press releases, and checking Twitter and Facebook regularly.  I wrote seven Genea-Musings posts for the announcements, and several more blog posts about using the new features.  In addition, I compiled all of the genealogy world's blog posts about attending or monitoring RootsTech in RootsTech 2019 SLC Blog Compendium - Updated.

4)  Wrote a biography of 6th great-grandfather
#440 John Underhill (1721-1793) of Chester, New Hampshire  for my 52 Ancestors post on Friday.

5)  Watched six of the RootsTech livestream classes and all of two of the Keynote sessions, and the first part of the other two keynotes.

6)  Participated in today's Mondays With Myrt.  Today's webinar discussed RootsTech in general, the livestream classes, Ancestry ThruLines, MyHeritage Theory of Family Relativity, the Ancestry breakfast, RootsMagic 8, and Family Tree Maker 2019.  In addition, we discussed computer passwords, the Zoom webinar platform, Elizabeth Shown mills blog about document images, andm ore.

7)  Worked on the new Ancestry ThruLines feature for connecting with about 100 of my AncestryDNA matches.  Also worked on the MyHeritage Theory of Family Relativity for the 15 MyHeritageDNA matches that I have.

8) There were several sessions working in the RootsMagic software program to update FamilySearch Family Tree profiles for Seaver families and other ancestral families, with occasional additions to the RootsMagic profiles. I have matched 29,655 of my RootsMagic persons with FSFT.

9)  I continue to use Web Hints and Record Matches from Ancestry, MyHeritage, Findmypast and FamilySearch to add content and sources to my RootsMagic profiles.  I now have 52,645 persons in my RootsMagic file, and 102,249 source citations.   I TreeShared two times during the last week (about 300 profiles), and resolved about 1,000 Ancestry Hints.  I've fallen behind on the Ancestry Record Hints with 102,220 to be resolved, but I work on them weekly.

10) Wrote 28 Genea-Musings blog posts last week, of which nine were press releases.  The most popular post last week was
Using the AncestryDNA ThruLines™ Feature to Find Common Ancestors,  with over 1565 views.
