Surname Saturday -- CORK (England to colonial New England)

It's Surname Saturday, and I'm "counting down" my Ancestral Name List each week.

I am working in the 9th great-grandmothers by Ahnentafel number, and I am up to Ancestor #2259 who is Audrey CORK (1590-1638). [Note: the more recent ancestral families have been covered in earlier posts.]

My ancestral line back through two generations in this CORK family line is:

1. Randall J. Seaver

2. Frederick Walton Seaver (1911-1983)
3. Betty Virginia Carringer (1919-2002)

4. Frederick Walton Seaver (1876-1942)
5. Alma Bessie Richmond (1882-1962)

8. Frank Walton Seaver (1852-1922)
9. Hattie Louise Hildreth (1857-1920)

16. Isaac Seaver (1823-1901)
17. Lucretia Townsend Smith (1827-1884)

34.  Alpheus B. Smith (1802-1840)
35.  Elizabeth Horton Dill (1791-1869)

70.  Thomas Dill (1755-1839)
71.  Hannah Horton (1761-1797)

140.  Thomas Dill (1708-1761)
141.  Mehitable Brown (1714-1758)

282.  Samuel Brown (1686-1749)

283.  Ruth Young (1688-1768)

564.  George Brown (1652-1721)
565.  Mehitable Knowles (1653-1721)

1128.  William Brown (1624-1694)
1129.  Mary Moorecock (1625-1694)
2258. Henry Moorecock, born about 1588 in Smarden, Kent, England; died before 1625 in Kent,
England. He married 04 June 1616 in St. Margaret's, Canterbury, Kent, England. 2259. Audrey Cork, born about 1590 in Egerton, Kent, England; died before December 1638 in
Plymouth, Plymouth, Massachusetts, United States. Children of Henry Moorecock and Audrey Cork are:
*  Bennet Moorecock (1619-????).
*  Nicholas Moorecock (1621-????).
Mary Moorecock (1625-1694), married 1649 William Brown (1624-1694).

I have no other information on the Moorecock or Cork families.  Some derivative sources have Mary's maiden name as Murdock.

However, in The Great Migration, Audrey (Cork) Moorecock, widow of Henry Moorecock, is named as the first wife of Thomas Whitton (1599-1664).  They married in 1625 in Kent, and Thomas died in Plymouth.  The sketch for Thomas Whitton names the children of Henry and Audrey (Cork) Moorecock.
