Randy's Autosomal DNA Test and Analysis Summary - 2 July 2019

My last list of my Autosomal DNA test and analysis results was posted in Randy's Autosomal DNA Test and Analysis Summary - 16 April 2019.

I decided to stop doing the update on a weekly basis, and I planned to do it on a monthly basis.  Two more months have passed...I need a calendar, apparently.


So here is the update, with comparison to two months ago.  I'm curious to see how my numbers have increased:


1)  Ancestry DNA:

*  Shared Ancestors:  331 (was 325 on 4/16/19) [not available any longer)
*  DNA Circles:  26 (was 23 on 4/16/19) (not available any longer)
*  Total Matches (6 cM or more):  59,185 matches (was 56,549 matches on 4/16/19)
*  Matches with 68 cM (1.0%) or more: 21 matches (was 19 on 4/16/19)
*  Matches with 34 cM (0.5%) or more:  118 matches (was 111 on 4/16/19)
*  4th Cousins or closer (20 cM): 1,310 matches (was 1,236 on 4/16/19)

*  Matches with Common Ancestors:  about 330
*  Highest match has 779 cM (11.5%), and is one of my known first cousins.


2)  MyHeritageDNA:

*  Total Matches (8 cM or more):   6,582 matches (was 6,338 on 4/16/19)
*  Matches with 68 cM (1.0%) or more:  4 matches (was 4 on 4/16/19)
*  Matches with 34 cM (0.5 %) or more:  64 matches (was 52 on 4/16/19)
*  Number of Theories of Family Relativity:  15 (9 correct) (was 15 on 4/16/19)
*  Highest Match has 512 cM (7.1%), and is one of my first cousins once removed.

3)  23andMe:


*  Total DNA Relatives Matches:  1,182 Matches (was 1,141 on 4/16/19)
*  Matches with 68 cM (1.0%) or more:  6 Matches (was 5 on 4/16/19)
*  Matches with 34 cM (0.5%) or more:  79 Matches (was 72 on 4/16/19)
*  Highest Match has 112 cM (1.54%), and is an adoptee.

4)  FamilyTreeDNA:


*  Total Family Finder Matches (18 cM or more):  3,238 Matches (was 3,073 on 4/16/19)
*  Matches with 68 cM (1.0%) or more:  14 (was 13 on 4/16/19)
*  Matches with 34 cM (0.5%) or more:  2,128 matches (was 1,673 on 4/16/19)
*  Highest Match has 96 cM (1.42%) and is an unknown cousin

5)  LivingDNA:


*  Total Matches:  0 (was 0 on 4/16/19)

6)  GEDMatch:

*  Matches with 68 cM (1.0%) or more:  1 (was 1 on 4/16/19)
*  Matches with 34 cM (0.5%) or more: 39 (was 34 on 4/16/19)
*  Matches with 20 cM or more:  557 (was 435 on 4/16/19)
*  Highest Match has 86.8  cM and is a known 3rd cousin

Thanks for this Randy. Overall your analysis vividly demonstrates the significant difference on numbers of testers and potential for helping to confirm research with genetic genealogy - more than 5x total matches on Ancestry vs all others combined.

Still wish they would add chromosome browser capability...

Wondering about your comment about Shared ancestors "no longer available". I appreciate that is no longer a stand alone, but in going to "all matches" you can click the shaky leaf button and the list of what was previously 'shared ancestors' comes up. Maybe that's what you are calling Matches with Common Ancestors...
