Christmas Eve 1954 Seaver Family Photo -- Post 649 of (Not So) Wordless Wednesday

I can't help it, I can't do a wordless post! This is one of my favorite photographs:

This photograph is from Christmas Eve, 1954.  This is my family - my father, Frederick W. Seaver (age 43 in his snappy bow tie), my brother Stanley (age 8), me (age 11), and my mother Betty (Carringer) Seaver (age 35, seated on the fireplace bricks).

The setting is my grandparents (Lyle and Emily (Auble) Carringer) home on Point Loma in San Diego, in the living room with the famed Carringer fireplace (and chimney big enough for Santa!).  We slept in this house on Christmas Eve, from about 1953 to 1959) and woke up on Christmas morning with the fireplace covered in gift boxes and toys.  I still don't know where my parents slept - maybe in the chairs in the family room?

This photo (originally black and white) has been enhanced and colorized using the MyHeritage photo tools.  I doubt that my mother's dress was that patterned color.
