Treasure Chest Thursday -- 1697 Marriage Record of Mychall Bowden and Sarah Davis in Lynn, Massachusetts Bay

The treasure today is the 1697 marriage entry for Mychall Bowden and Sarah Davis in the Lynn, Massachusetts town records book:

The transcription of this record is:

"an intention of Marrige betwixt Mychall Bowden of Maruell-head & Sarah Daves of Lyn: Novem'r 20'th 1697"

The source citation for this record is:

This is an entry in an original town record book for Lynn, Massachusetts.  It is probably an Original Record, with Primary Information and Direct Evidence of this marriage intentions.  

I noted that this image (and probably this specific record book) were digitized on 19 April 2021 by FamilySearch.  Sarah last name was indexed as Dawes but it is probably Daves or Davis.  Ancestry.com does not have this record yet to my knowledge.  The Lynn vital records book has this record with Sarah's last name as "Dave" because the page has a flaw in the digital copy after the last legible letter of her name. 

   

Michael Bowden (1673-1741) was born in 1673 in Topsfield, Massachusetts Bay, the son of Michael and Sarah (Nurse) Bowden of Marblehead, Massachusetts Bay.  He married Sarah Davis after 20 November 1697 (intentions) in Lynn.  Sarah Davis (1676-1754) was the daughter of John and Sarah (Kirtland) of Lynn.  

Michael and Sarah (Davis) Bowden are my 7th great-grandparents through their daughter Mary Bowden (1705-1755) who married Joseph Richards  (1703-1748) in 1726 in Lynn, Massachusetts Bay.
