It's Treasure Chest Thursday - a chance to look in my digital image files to see what treasures I can find for my family history and genealogy musings.
The treasure today is the death record for Nathan Brigham in Southborough, Massachusetts:
The death record is the 4th entry at the top of the Brigham listings on this page:
The transcription of this record is:
"[BRIGHAM] Lt. Nathan, Sept. 15, 1784, in his 91st y."
The source citation for this marriage record is:
Systematic Historic Fund, Vital Records of Southborough, Massachusetts to the end of the Year 1849 (Worcester, Mass.: Franklin P. Rice, 1903), Deaths, page 159, Lieut. Nathan Brigham death entry, 1784.
This town record book is a Derivative Source, with Primary Information and Direct Evidence as to the names, birth date and place.
Nathan Brigham (1693-1784) was the son of Nathan and Elizabeth (Maynard) Brigham. He married (1) Dinah Rice (1693-1725) on 24 December 1717 in Marlborough, and they had five children.
Nathan and Dinah (Rice) Brigham are my 6th great-grandparents, through their son Moses Brigham (1723-1769), who married Mehitable Grout (1722-1795) in 1749.
