Saturday Night Genealogy Fun - Your Genealogy Highlights for Last Month

  It's Saturday Night -

time for more Genealogy Fun!

Your mission, should you decide to accept it (cue the Mission Impossible music here) is to:

1) What genealogy fun have you had this past month?  What is your genealogy highlight of the past month.  It could be attending or watching a webinar or local genealogy society meeting,  it could be finding a new ancestor, or it could be reading a new genealogy book, or anything else that you have enjoyed.

2)  Tell us about it in a blog post on your own blog, in a comment to this post, or in a Facebook post.

Here's mine:

I have had very few genealogy highlights this past month, mainly because of my health problems.  I have fewer hours each day to do genealogy research, or write, or read about genealogy.

The most significant and fun task was posted on 25 September 2022 in Rabbit Holes With Randy - Where Was the Martin Carringer (1758-1835) Farm?  in response to a reader query.  I found my 1860 and 1873 maps of Perry Township in Mercer County, Pennsylvania and figured out where the Carringer farm was located.  I also checked Martin Carringer's 1835 will to determine which son received which land.  Then I wrote the post and sent the information to my correspondent.

Another fun opportunity was posted in Rabbit Holes With Randy - Genetic Affairs AutoClusters.  I worked in 23andMe for this post, and refreshed my memory of how to use the Genetic Affairs cluster analysis.

Finally, I read books during the long baseball games on TV (Go Padres!!) and have recently enjoyed the works of Nathan Dylan Goodwin, Steve Robinson and M.J. Lee using Kindle on my laptop..

Even if I spent time on vacation, I still got in some genealogy during the past month.
