I received this via email from FamilySearch and RootTech recently:
=============================================
As the organizer and sponsor of RootsTech, FamilySearch plays a key role in bringing the genealogy community together in a way that no other organization can. Since its inception in 2011, RootsTech by FamilySearch has welcomed tens of thousands of enthusiastic genealogists, from beginning to expert, in person at the Salt Palace in Salt Lake City and at the ExCel Center in London, England.
During the pandemic, RootsTech became a worldwide phenomenon where millions of people enjoyed all RootsTech had to offer (keynote speakers, classes, heritage, and Relatives at RootsTech) through their computers, tablets, and phones.
FamilySearch International is the largest genealogy organization in the world with billions of records from 200+ countries, a website with discovery experiences, a worldwide family tree, a research wiki with more than 100,000 articles, a digital book library with over a half millions books, and many other resources. Localized help can be found at the 5,600+ family history centers around the world.
The goal of FamilySearch is to create inspiring experiences that bring joy to all people as they discover, gather, and connect with their family—past, present, and future. Hundreds of employees and volunteers work tirelessly to bring all of this to users—free of charge—with the hope that everyone can connect with their family and feel a sense of belonging.
FamilySearch is continually seeking feedback to make the online and in-person experience more meaningful and productive. Recent improvements include:
- Updated and refreshed Help and Learning
- Exploring unindexed historical images by location
- Improved Get Involved experience, especially with the 1950 US census
- Family History Library on-site catalog
- Improved layout of the person page on the Family Tree
- Millions more records added to the website each week
- New names for family history centers and the Family History Library
Stop by the FamilySearch booth in the Expo Hall to learn about these things and so much more. We will have our staff experts on hand to assist you with whatever question you have.
