To the Honorable Court of Probate within and for the County of Worcester.
Respectfully represents, Lucy L. Seaver administratrix
of the Estate of James M. Seaver late of
Sterling in said County, deceased, intestate, that there are
debts against said Estate, already ascertained, amounting to Fifty Dollars
that the charges of administration will probably amount to twenty Dollars
and the personal estate Sixty two Dollars & thirteen cents
as apprised.
The Real Estate consists of
the Homestead apprised at $450 - Subject to two mortgages
amounting to $369-21, and a part thereof cannot be
sold without injury to the residue.
Wherefore your petitioner prays that she may be licensed to sell
all of the Real Estate of said deceased.
for the payment of debts and charges.

James M. Seaver (1817-1853) was born about 1817 in Sterling, Massachusetts, the son of James and Olive (Moore) Seaver of Sterling. He married Lucy L. Houghton (1825-1860) on 1 June 1846 in Dummarston, Vermont. They had two children:
* Lucy Ann Seaver (1848-????), married 1876 Henry Thomas Whitney (1849-1924).
* Ida Eliza Seaver (1852-????), married 1884 Horace Myron Thurber (1834-1895)
Lucy L. (Houghton) Seaver was named administratrix of the estate of her husband James M. Seaver. The personal estate was assessed at $62.15 in an inventory, and the real estate was assessed at $450, but two mortgages totaling $369.21 was owed. Lucy petitioned to sell the property and it was granted by the probate court. Cyrus Holbrook was named Guardian ad litem of the two minor children to protect their interest in the estate.
James M. Seaver (1817-1853) is my 3rd cousin five times removed. Our common Seaver ancestor is my 7th great-grandfather Joseph Seaver (1672-1754).
