Here are the highlights of my family history and genealogy related activities over the past week.
1) Hosted and moderated the Chula Vista Genealogical Society Research Group Meeting on Wednesday. Reported on the English GRO records, microfilm requests at FamilySearch, and reviewed the FamilySearch website. Also summarized my own work and the homework from last month.
2) Attended the San Diego Genealogical Society British Isles interest group meeting with Colin Whitney. His topic was "Death Records."
3) Watched the Family Tree Webinars "Celebrating 2,000 Webinars! Plus 10 tips you can use today."
4) Continued tagging, enhancing/colorizing, and captioning scanned photos on MyHeritage Photos, then renaming and saving them to my desktop computer photo files.
5) Wrote a genealogical sketch for 7th great-grandfather #882 William Healey (1688-1772) of Hampton and Chester, New Hampshire for the 52 Ancestors series on Friday. I've written 488 of these sketches for my ancestors.
6) Transcribed the four page 1857 Will of Samuel Seaver (1772-1857) in Sullivan County, New Hampshire for the Amanuensis Monday series. I've transcribed about 690 records in this series.
7) AncestryDNA now has 43,606 DNA matches (up 56 from 9 July) for me today, with one new ThruLines. I added Notes to two new matches. MyHeritageDNA now has 11,534 DNA matches (up 27 from 9 July) for me, with no new Theories. Reviewed the new DNA matches on AncestryDNA, MyHeritageDNA, FamilyTreeDNA and 23andMe.
9) Used Web Hints and Record Matches from Ancestry, MyHeritage, Findmypast and FamilySearch to add content and source citations to my RootsMagic profiles. I now have 71,150 persons in my RootsMagic file (up 1), and 146,098 source citations (up 14). I TreeShared 73 new or modified profiles with my Ancestry Member Tree, and I resolved 203 Ancestry Hints. My Ancestry Member Tree has Ancestry Record Hints with 177,860 to be resolved, but I work on them several times a week.
10) Wrote 15 Genea-Musings blog posts last week (Sunday through Saturday), of which two were a press release. The most viewed post last week was Best of the Genea-Blogs - Week of 2 to 8 July 2023 with over 200 views. Genea-Musings had about 57,800 page views last week.
