Emily Auble and Lyle Carringer in 1918 in San Diego -- Post 777 of (Not So) Wordless Wednesday

I can't help it, I can't do a wordless post! This is now one of my favorite photographs:

This photograph is of my maternal grandparents, Emily Kemp Auble (1899-1977) and Lyle Lawrence Carringer (1891-1976) in 1918 in San Diego, California.  They were married 19 June 1918, and this photo is probably before the wedding.

When the USA entered World War I in 1917, Lyle volunteered for the U.S. Marines Reserve, and served the balance of his service time in San Diego at the Marines training facility in Balboa Park.

I have very few photographs of either Emily or Lyle broadly smiling or laughing.  This is one of them.  I colorized this photograph using the MyHeritage photo tools.

This photograph is all part of our family history.
