 Here is this week's edition of "Seavers in the News" - a weekly feature from the historical newspapers about persons with the surname Seaver that are interesting, useful, mysterious, fun, macabre, or add information to my family tree database.

This week's entry is from the Seattle [Wash.] Daily Times newspaper dated 21 March 1961, page 30, Column 1:

This obituary provides the name, age, birth place, wife's name, children names, sibling names, death day, death place, burial place, associations, and church services.  But not the birth date, parents names, marriage date and place, or education.

Charles Archibald Seaver (1886-1961) was born 21 September 1886 in Steptow, Washington, the son of James Lyman and Sarah Ann (Green) Seaver.  He died 20 March 1961 in Seattle, Washington.  Charles married Mabel B. Salmeyer (1891-1975) on 26 August 1913 in Seattle.  They had two children:

*  Vernon Ardelle Seaver (1914-1970), married 1933 Elizabeth Keil (1912-1970).
*  Richard A. Seaver (1921-1959).

I am an 8th cousin twice removed to Charles Archibald Seaver, with our common Seaver ancestor being my 9th great-grandfather Robert Seaver (1608-1683).

There are over 10,000 Seaver "stories" in my family tree - and this is one of them.   Life happens, accidentally and intentionally, and sometimes a person has a fairly complete obituary.  I am glad that I can honor Charles Archibald Seaver today.

You never know when a descendant or relative will find this blog post and learn something about their ancestors or relatives, or will provide more information about them to me.
