Seavers in the News -- Obituary of John A. Seaver (1900-1979) of Worcester, Massachusetts

 Here is this week's edition of "Seavers in the News" - a weekly feature from the historical newspapers about persons with the surname Seaver that are interesting, useful, mysterious, fun, macabre, or add information to my family tree database.

This week's entry is from the  Hartford [Conn.] Courant newspaper dated Sunday, 16 December 1979, page 8, Column 4:

This obituary provides only an age, a residence, a death date, and list of survivors, plus information about the memorial service and burial.

John Angus Seaver (1900-1979) was born 2 May 1900 in Prince Edward Island, Canada, the son of Edward Alonzo and Julia F. (McDonald) Seaver.  He died 14 December 1979 in Worcester, Massachusetts.  John married Florence M. Howard (1901-1970) in about 1921 in Massachusetts.  They had two children:

*  Florence M. Seaver (1924-2012), married 1946 John A. Zona (1919-2015).
*  John F. Seaver (1925-2000), married 1953 Dorothy Susan Jennings (1924-1990).

I am a 3rd cousin 3x removed to John Angus Seaver (1900-1979).  Our most recent Seaver ancestor isis my 5th great-grandfather Norman Seaver (1734-1787).

There are over 10,000 Seaver "stories" in my family tree - and this is one of them.   Life happens, accidentally and intentionally, and sometimes a person's obituary has no information about the persons occupation, associations, or accomplishments.  I am glad that I can honor John Angus Seaver today.

You never know when a descendant or relative will find this blog post and learn something about their ancestors or relatives, or will provide more information about them to me.
