Here is this week's edition of "Seavers in the News" - a weekly feature from the historical newspapers about persons with the surname Seaver that are interesting, useful, mysterious, fun, macabre, or add information to my family tree database.
This week's entry is from The Boston [Mass.] Globenewspaper dated Saturday, 14 June 1930, Page 11, Column 5:
The transcription of the article is:
"MISS RUTH W. SEAVER IS LEOMINSTER BRIDE
"LEOMINSTER, June 14 -- Miss Ruth W. Seaver, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick W. Seaver, 20 Hall St., and Bowers Fischer, son of Mr. amd Mrs. Ferdinand C. Fischer, 908 Main st., North Leominster, were married this afternoon at St. Mark's Episcopal Church by Rev. John D. Hull. They were attended by Miss Clara H. Healey as bridesmaid and C. Howard Tucker as best man. Mrs. Frences H. Tilly was at the organ and the choir contributed special music under the direction of John Paul. A reception followed at the bride's home.
"The bride and bridegroom graduated from the High School in 1924. She attended the State Normal School, Fitchburg, and has been teaching in the public schools at Lynn. Mr. Fischer is in the business office of Elwood Chicken Farm."

This marriage announcement provides the bride and groom names, their parents names, their residences and their occupations.
Ruth Weston Seaver (1909-2000) was born 9 September 1907 in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, the daughter of Frederick Walton and Alma Bessie (Richmond) Seaver. She died on 21 September 2000 in Sun City, Florida. She married Bowers Arnold Fischer (1906-1988) on 14 June 1930 in Leominster, Massachusetts. He was born 20 December 1906 in Leominster, Massachusetts, the son of Ferdinand Edmund and Ida Frances (Bowers) Fischer, and died 27 July 1988 in Sun City, Florida. They had two children.
Ruth Weston (Seaver) Fischer is my aunt, the sister of my father, Frederick Walton Seaver (1911-1983).
There are over 10,000 Seaver "stories" in my family tree - and this is one of them. Life happens, accidentally and intentionally, and sometimes a person has an informative marriage announcement. I am glad that I can honor Ruth Weston (Seaver) Fischer (1907-2000) today.
You never know when a descendant or relative will find this blog post and learn something about their ancestors or relatives, or will provide more information about them to me.
