Treasure Chest Tuesday -- 1855 Wisconsin State Census for Samuel Vaux Household in Burnett, Wisconsin

This week's Tuesday Treasure is the 1855 Wisconsin State Census record for the Samuel Vaux family in Burnett, Dodge County, Wisconsin:

The Samuel Vaux family is the 5th from the bottom on the right-hand page:

The extracted information from this record for the Samuel Vaux family is:

*  Head of family:  Saml Vaux
*  Aggregate population, White - male:  2
*  Aggregate population, White - female:  4

The source citation for this census record is:

"Wisconsin State Census, 1855," indexed database and digital image, FamilySearch.org (https://www.familysearch.org : accessed 31 March 2013), Dodge County, Burnett, Saml Vaux household, image 45 of 143.

The numbers of male and female may account for:

*  father Samuel Vaux - born 1816 in England
*  son James P. Vaux - born 1847 in New York

*  mother Mary Ann (Underhill) Vaux - born 1815 in New York
*  daughter Mary Almeda Vaux - born 1839 in New York
*  daughter Celia Ann Vaux - born 1842 in New York
*  daughter Abigail A. Vaux - born 1844 in New York

Unaccounted for, for some reason, are one of the above or:

*  son Amos S. Vaux - born 1854 in New York
*  daughter Elizabeth B. Vaux - born 1850 in New York.

This is the only record I have of the Samuel Vaux family residing in Dodge County, Wisconsin.  They were not in the 1860 United States Census there or anywhere else.

Samuel and Mary Ann (Underhill) Vaux are my 3rd great-grandparents, who first settled in Aurora, Erie County, New York, moved to Dodge County, Wisconsin in 1854 or 1855, moved to Andrew County, Missouri by 1869, and then to the area around Concordia, Kansas, where they died in 1880 and 1882, respectively.  I am descended from their daughter, Abigail A. Vaux (1844-1931) who married Devier J. Lamphier Smith (1839-1894) in Dodge County, Wisconsin in 1861.
