Dozens of genealogy and family history bloggers write thousands of posts every week about their research, their families, and their interests. I appreciate each one of them and their efforts.
My criteria for "Best of ..." are pretty simple - I pick posts that advance knowledge about genealogy and family history, address current genealogy issues, provide personal family history, are funny or are poignant. I don't list posts destined for daily blog prompts or meme submissions (but I do include summaries of them), or my own posts.
Here are my picks for great reads from the genealogy blogs for this past week:
* Methodology Monday-The How and Why of Writing Sound Conclusions by Cheri Hudson Passey on Carolina Girl Genealogy.
* New Loyalist Migrations Map by Gail Dever on Genealogy a la Carte.
* 100+ AncestryDNA Matches In My Tree by April on Digging Up the Dirt on My Dead People.
* Using Fire Insurance Maps for Family History by Elizabeth O'Neal on Heart of the Family.
* Family History With Young Kids ... While Sheltering in Place by Marisa Louis Lee on California Genealogical Society Blog.
* Genealogy Education: Watch by Julie Cahill Tarr on Julie's Genealogy & History Hub.
* Methodology: New Look at 2 Females With the Same Name by Linda Stufflebean on Empty Branches on the Family Tree.
* Peeling Back the Layers: Online Source Citations Part 3 by Diana Elder on Family Locket.
* Review: How White Was White Enough? by Judy G. Russell on The Legal Genealogist.
* Tricking the Search System Into Finding Thomas and Mary by Marian B. Wood on Climbing My Family Tree.
* Taking Better Notes in Your Genealogy Research by Amy Johnson Crow on Amy Johnson Crow.
* Finding a Relationship With DNA Segment Data by Kitty Cooper on Kitty Cooper's Blog.
* Don't Believe the Hints by David Annal on Lifelines Research.
