Best of the Genea-Blogs - Week of 19 to 25 March 2023

Scores of genealogy and family history bloggers write hundreds of posts every week about their research, their families, and their interests. I appreciate each one of them and their efforts.

My criteria for "Best of ..." are pretty simple - I pick posts that advance knowledge about genealogy and family history, address current genealogy issues, provide personal family history, are funny or are poignant. I don't list posts destined for daily blog prompts or meme submissions (but I do include summaries of them), or my own posts.

Here are my picks for great reads from the genealogy blogs for this past week:

Missing Ancestors by Judith Batchelor on Genealogy Jude.

*  24 Reasons to Research Institutional Records and Where to Find Them by Kenneth Marks on The Ancestor Hunt.

*  Create a Custom Group of DNA Matches on Ancestry by Mercedes on Who Are You Made Of?

*  The real limitations of Artificial Intelligence: Incomplete, Inaccurate, Misleading, and Flat Out Wrong and Despite Limitations Artificial Intelligence Will Benefit Genealogy by James Tanner on Genealogy's Star.

*  Genealogy Information in City Directories by Kenneth Marks on The Ancestor Hunt.

My Top Ten Genea-Mysteries by Heather Wilkinson Rojo on Nutfield Genealogy.

*  Thomas’ Tips & Ask: Numident by Thomas MacEntee on Genealogy Bargain$.

*  8 Things a Genealogist Should Carry at All Times by Daniella on MyHeritage Blog.

*  Mail Call! What Post Office Records Can Tell Us About Our Ancestors, Part 1 and Part 2 by Linda Stufflebean on Empty Branches on the Family Tree.

*  Beethoven’s DNA Reveals Surprises – Does Your DNA Match? by Robert Estes on DNAeXplained - Genetic Genealogy.

Where He Lies by Judy G. Russell on The Legal Genealogist.

*  A Miracle Find No Thanks To An Index by Lori Samuelson on GenealogyAtHeart.com.

Here are pick posts by other geneabloggers this week:

*  Friday's Family History Finds by Linda Stufflebean on Empty Branches on the Family Tree.

*  Friday Fossicking 24th Mar 2023 by Crissouli on That Moment In Time.

This Week's Creme de la Creme - March 25, 2023  by Gail Dever on Genealogy a la Carte.

Readers are encouraged to go to the blogs listed above and  read their articles, and add the blogs to your Favorites, Feedly, another RSS feed, or email if you like what you read. Please make a comment to them also - all bloggers appreciate feedback on what they write.

Did I miss a great genealogy blog post? Tell me! I currently am reading posts from over 900 genealogy bloggers using Feedly, but I still miss quite a few it seems.
