Elizabeth Ann Richmond married Abram Sykes in about 1876, probably in Putnam, Windham County, Connecticut. They had two children:
* Reuben James Sykes, born October 1876 in Putnam, Windham County, Connecticut, died 1910 in Putnam, Windham County, Connectivut. He married Edith A. Rothe (1877-1912) in 1899 in Connecticut.
* Gertrude Elizabeth Sykes, born 9 May 1878 in Putnam, Windham County, connecticut, died 7 August 1946 in Loveland, Larimer County, Colorado. She married Jay Arthur Martin (1882-1957) on 12 July 1911 in Janesville, Lassen County, California.
In the 1880 United States Census, the Abram Sykes family resided in Putnam, Windham County, Connecticut[6]. The household included:
* Abram Sykes - white, male, age 29, married, works in woolen mill, born Rhode Island, father born England, mother born England.
* Elizabeth A. Sykes - white, female, age 25, wife, married keeping house, born in England, father born England, mother born England.
* Reuben J. Sykes - white, male, age 3, son, born Connecticut, father born Rhode Island, mother born England.* Gertrude E. Sykes - white, female, age 1, daughter, born Connecticut, father born Rhode Island, mother born England.
In the 1900 United States Census, the Abram Sykes family resided on School Street in Putnam, Windham County, Connecticut[1]. The household included:
* Abram Sykes - Head, white, male, born Jan 1851, age 49, married, for 24 years, born Rhode Island, father born England, mother born England, overseer in woolen mill, can read and write, speaks English, rents house
* Elizabeth A. Sykes - wife, white, female, born Aug 1854, married, for 24 years, 2 children born, 2 living, born in England, father born England, mother born England, immigrated in 1870, in U.S. 30 years, can read and write, speaks English
* Gertrude E. Sykes - daughter, white, female, born June 1878, age 21 single, born Connecticut, father born Rhode Island, mother born England, a dressmaker, can read and write, speaks English
Abram Sykes died in 1905 in Putnam, Windham County, Connecticut, leaving Elizabeth with two teenage children.
There are no further records for Elizabeth Ann (Richman) Sykes until her death and burial. The death of Elizabeth A. Richmond Sykes is recorded in the Connecticut, Hale Cemetery Inscriptions and Newspaper Notices, 1629-1934, for Putnam, Grove Street Cemetery, Elizabeth A. Richmond Sykes entry, wife of Abram, born 1854, died 1931[7-9]. The gravestone inscription is:
