MyHeritage's AI Record Finder May Be Discontinued on 9 August 2024

I was working on my MyHeritage family tree today trying to find information in their record collections that might help me flesh out some of my ancestor's events and stories.

Here is my 6-generation family tree on MyHeritage.  I wanted to find information about my third great-grandmother Eliza Putman (1820-1895) who married Alexander Sovereen (1814-1907).  I clicked on her name on the tree and saw::

The card appears on the left, so I clicked on the red "Research this person" link and somehow (I don't recall how!) and was taken to the AI Record-Finder chat page:

I filled in the green field with information about my person of interest and pressed the search button, and several records appeared.

Then I saw the notice at the top of the screen in the yellow background that says:

"The AI Record-Finder feature will be sunset and removed from the website on 2024-08-09."

Huh, I wonder why?  Perhaps it wasn't being used by many users.  Or the contract with the AI supplier expired?  I'm sure they will tell us!

Perhaps MyHeritage will provide a new tool to do more Artificial Intelligence tasks that find actual historical records in their collection rather than just highlight the online family trees in their collection.

Disclosure: I receive a complimentary subscription to MyHeritage, and have received other material consideration in past years. I uploaded my autosomal DNA raw data to their DNA product. This does not affect my objective analysis of MyHeritage products. I am a paid subscriber to Family Tree Webinars and love it.
