Here are the highlights of my family history and genealogy related activities over the past week.
1) Hosted and moderated the Chula Vista Genealogical Society (CVGS) DNA Interest Group Meeting on Wednesday with 20 attendees. I reported on the ECGG, 23and Me Lawsuit, Updated MyHeritage Theory of Family Relativity, several new DNA videos, and my own AI questions concerning DNA matches.
2) Attended the CVGS Education Meeting on Tuesday led by Karen Smith - we watched a video and discussed where and how to build a family tree.
3) Attended most of the San Diego Genealogical Society British Isles Interest Group meeting with Colin Whitney, who reviewed several new and different UK/Ireland databases.
4) Participated in Mondays With Myrt last Monday (16 September), and we discussed Storytelling, played Who's in my Line, and using AI to find a person's grandmother.
5) Posted my recent interview with Lisa Louise Cooke on the Family Tree Magazine podcast in My Interview With Lisa Louise Cooke and Family Tree Magazine.
6) Transcribed the 1877 Mortgage Indenture of James A. and Melissa Kemp to Canada Landed Credit Company for Land in Norfolk County, Ontario for the Amanuensis Monday theme.
16) Wrote 20 Genea-Musings blog posts last week (Sunday through Saturday), of which one was a press release. The most viewed post last week was "Emily's Loves" - A Genealogy Poem and Song Created by Artificial Intelligence with over 280 views. Genea-Musings had about 204,000 page views last week and over 985,000 views for the past month.
