"Emily's Loves" - A Genealogy Poem and Song Created by Artificial Intelligence

I've used FREE Artificial Intelligence tools to create biographies, poems and songs about genealogy and family history in the recent past. Today, I want to share a poem and a song about my family tree:

1)  I requested Microsoft CoPilot, Perplexity, ChatGPT and Claude (all FREE AI tools) to create a  poem about my maternal grandmother, Emily Kemp (Auble) Carringer. Here is the Prompt I used for the poem and the song:

Please write a poem about Emily Kemp Auble born 1899 in Chicago, Illinois, only child of Charles Auble and Georgianna Kemp.  The family moved to San Diego, California in 1911, and Emily attended San Diego High School.  Her father died in 1916, and Emily left school to work.  She met and married Lyle Carringer in 1918.  They had one daughter, Betty Virginia Carringer in 1919, and lived on Fern Street in San Diego next door to Lyle’s parents.  She loved flowers, and they had a greenhouse with ponds and ferns and plants.  Emily also worked at a department store as a saleslady.  Betty married Fred Seaver in 1942 and had three sons.   She won awards in garden shows and became a judge of garden displays. Lyle and Emily built a beautiful home with a view of San Diego Bay on Point Loma and furnished it with Japanese furniture, art and plants. She was kind, sweet, upbeat, happy, and wise.  Emily loved and encouraged her grandsons.  Lyle died in 1976 of cancer, and Emily died in 1977 of a stroke.

 2)  I chose the poem created by Claude today.  Here are the lyrics:

EMILY'S LOVES

From Chicago's bustling streets to San Diego's shore,
Young Emily Kemp Auble, born in 1899, had much in store.
An only child of Charles and Georgianna, she grew,
Until 1911 brought a change of view.

In San Diego High, she learned and thrived,
But fate intervened when her father died.
At seventeen, she left her books behind,
To work and help, her path redefined.

Love found her soon, in Lyle Carringer's eyes,
In 1918, they sealed their lives with ties.
A daughter, Betty, came the following year,
On Fern Street, they made their home so dear.

With green-thumbed grace, Emily tended her land,
A greenhouse flourished beneath her hand.
Ponds and ferns, a floral paradise,
Her passion for beauty, beyond any price.

At the department store, she worked with care,
A saleslady's charm, beyond compare.
But home was where her heart truly lay,
In gardens that bloomed, day after day.

As Betty wed and had three sons of her own,
Emily's love and wisdom had only grown.
She judged garden shows with expert eye,
Her own displays winning prizes high.

With Lyle, she built a home on Point Loma's crest,
Japanese art and furniture, among the best.
A view of the bay, a sight to behold,
Their love for beauty never grew old.

Kind and sweet, with a spirit so bright,
Emily's joy was a guiding light.
To her grandsons, she gave encouragement true,
Her love and wisdom, forever new.

Though Lyle left first, in '76, to cancer's might,
Emily followed soon after, into the night.
A stroke in '77 took her away,
But her blossoming legacy lives on today.

In flowers that bloom and gardens that grow,
In lives she touched, her spirit still flows.
Emily Kemp Auble Carringer, a life well-lived,
Forever remembered for all she gave.

3)  Here is the AI song and lyrics, created from the same custom prompt, on Suno.com, using an acoustic pop style:

EMILY'S LOVES

[Verse]
Emily born in Chicago town
With dreams so high never looking down
Moved to San Diego so wide and bright
Life unfolding day and night

[Verse]
Father's gone in sixteen's grip
Left school early a sudden trip
Met her love in eighteen's grace
Life together a warm embrace

[Chorus]
Flowers bloom on Fern Street lane
In the greenhouse with love's sweet name
Ponds and ferns a hidden rhyme
In her heart a timeless time

[Verse]
Lyle and Emily side by side
Hand in hand love's gentle ride
Betty born in nineteen's light
Made their family shine so bright

[Bridge]
Through the years the garden grew
With each flower a story true
Emily's touch in every leaf
In every petal joy and grief

[Chorus]
Flowers bloom on Fern Street lane
In the greenhouse with love's sweet name
Ponds and ferns a hidden rhyme
In her heart a timeless time

I wish that Suno would use all of the information provided and adapt accordingly.  The song misses the last half of her life.   Another verse or two would have been nice.  But it does this so much better than I could!

4)  Here are my blog posts with the AI-created poems and songs to date:

I have several more songs online at Suno.com (play all of them at   https://suno.com/@skeletalvenue315).

5)  These stories, told in verse and song, are part of my genealogy and family research.  My hope is that they will be passed down to my grandchildren and their descendants to highlight the importance of sharing stories, memories and love of our ancestors.  I will add them to my Google Drive and to my YouTube channel and my FOREVER account.
