John Richman[1–3] was born before 18 February 1816 in Hilperton, Wiltshire, England, the son of John and Ann (Marshman) Richman.[1] He was baptized on 18 February 1816.[1]  

He died before 1 June 1884 at the age of 68 in Bradford On Avon, Wiltshire, England.[3] John was buried on 1 June 1884 at St. Michael's Church in Hilperton, Wiltshire, England.[3]  

John Richman and Maria Matthews were married on 11 October 1835 in Hilperton, Wiltshire, England.[2]

Maria Matthews[2,4] was born before 31 December 1815 in Hilperton Marsh, Wiltshire, England, the daughter of John and Sarah (Cogswell) Matthews.[4] She was baptized on 31 December 1815 in Hilperton, Wiltshire, England.[4] She died in 1898 at the age of 83 in Portsea, Hampshire, England.

 John Richman and Maria Matthews had the following children:

• Elizabeth Richman, born 15 August 1836, Hilperton, Wiltshire, England; married Thomas Matthews, 26 December 1861, Trowbridge, Wiltshire, England; died 11 March 1916, Plainfield, Windham, Connecticut, United States.
• James Richman, born October 1838, Hilperton, Wiltshire, England; married Eliza Smith, 5 August 1860, Bradford On Avon, Wiltshire, England; married Hannah Maria Bennett, 16 October 1880, Trowbridge, Wiltshire, England; died 13 August 1919, Bradford On Avon, Wiltshire, England.
•  David Richman was born in 1840 in Hilperton, Wiltshire, England. He died on 3 December 1859 at the age of 19 in Hilperton, Wiltshire, England.
• Mary Richman, born 17 November 1842, Hilperton Marsh, Wiltshire, England; married William Henry Smith, 27 November 1865, Trowbridge, Wiltshire, England; died 6 April 1923, Hilperton Marsh, Wiltshire, England.
• Dorcas Richman was born in 1845 in Hilperton, Wiltshire, England. She died before 7 December 1866 at the age of 21 in Hilperton, Wiltshire, England.
• Lydia Richman, born 28 September 1847, Hilperton, Wiltshire, England; married William Hooper, abt 1868, Wiltshire, England; married William Smart, abt 1878, Wiltshire, England; died 1943, Portsmouth, Hampshire, England.
• Maria Richman, born bef 15 March 1855, Hilperton, Wiltshire, England; married William Henry Hanny, 7 May 1877, Cork, Ireland; died 1939, Essex, England.

John Richman (1816-1884) is my 2nd great-granduncle and the brother of my 2nd great-grandfather, James Richman (1821-1912).
