My Entry in's Guess My Family Heritage Blogathon Contest is hosting a blog contest starting today - see their post Enter to Win! Guess My Family Heritage Blogathon Contest.

First, I need to post an "an old photo of an ancestor(s)."  Here is one of the oldest photos I have from my family collection:

This is a framed paper photo from the 1860s of two of my ancestors.

Can you determine their heritage from this photograph?  If so, please reference my photo, and enter your guess as to who they are and their heritage (country of origin, culture, etc.) in a COMMENT on this blog post.  There is no prize for being correct...but I may win a prize by entering the contest.  Other bloggers can enter the contest also, and I encourage them to do so.

Thank you!

I would think either English or German. I lean towards German.

The lady is very fashionably dressed for the Civil War era. They were likely at least comfortable in life as her husband is also dressed in a suit. I haven't dug around in your blog, but you've mentioned the Hildreths lately so I will guess a Hildreth couple of English ancestry.
