Treasure Chest Thursday - Post 267: 1860 U.S. Census Entry for Amos Underhill (1772-1865)

It's Treasure Chest Thursday - time to look in my digital image files to see what treasures I can find for my family history and genealogy musings.

The treasure today is the  1860 United States Census for the Delos Underhill household in Aurora, Erie county, New York:

The Delos Underhill household entry:

The summary of the members of this family:

*  Delos Underhill - age 26, male, born in New York.
*  Laura Underhill - age 27, female, born New York
*  Eva Underhill - age 8, female, born New York
*  Amos Underhill - age 84, male, a farmer, born New York.

The source citation for this record is:

1860 United States Federal Census, Population Schedule, Erie County, New York, Aurora Township, Page 463, Dwelling #636, Family #626, Delos Underhill household; digital image, Ancestry.com (http://www.ancestry.com : accessed 19 November 2012); citing National Archives Microfilm Publication M653, Roll 752.

Amos Underhill (1772-1865) is my 4th great-grandfather, who married Mary "Polly" Metcalf (1780-1855). Their first son, Cyrus Metcalf Underhill (1804-1841) married Melinda Harmon (1812-1883), and their first child was Delos Underhill (1834-1864) who married Laura McIntyre (1831-1916).
