Monday Genea-Pourri - 11 March 2019

Here is a summary of my family history and genealogy related activities over the past week:

1)  Attended the Chula Vista Genealogical Society Board meeting on Wednesday at the library.   Reported on the Research Group, DNA Interest Group and the CVGS Newsletter newsletter.

2)  Wrote, edited, PDFed, published, emailed and snail-mailed the March 2019 CVGS Newsletter over the weekend.

3)  Found and transcribed the 1767 will of William Healy (1688-1772) of Chester, New Hampshire for Amanuensis Monday.

4)  Wrote and posted a biography of 6th great-grandmother #441 Joanna (Healey) Underhill (1718-1809) of Chester, New Hampshire  for my 52 Ancestors post on Friday.

5)  Watched one Family Tree Webinar - A Guide to Third Party DNA Tools for DNA Testing, by Michelle Leonard.

6)  Participated in today's Mondays With Myrt.  Today's webinar discussed Ancestry connection problems with DNA tools, DNA Matches, public/private trees, and tags; Debbie Parker Wayne's DNA standards blog posts; what is "family" and how/why to add unrelated persons to your family tree; Nicka Smith's Facebook post about genealogy societies, and the RootsTech blog compendium.

7)  Worked some more on the new Ancestry ThruLines feature for connecting with about 100 of my AncestryDNA matches.  Added about 40 "DNA Match" Facts and Notes for cousins with Thru Lines in RootsMagic.

8) There were several sessions working in the RootsMagic software program to update FamilySearch Family Tree profiles for Seaver families and other ancestral families, with occasional additions to the RootsMagic profiles. I have matched 29,732 of my RootsMagic persons with FSFT.  Updated and cleaned up the Family Tree profiles for five ancestors, including correcting the parents of John Kenyon (1742-1831).

9)  I continue to use Web Hints and Record Matches from Ancestry, MyHeritage, Findmypast and FamilySearch to add content and sources to my RootsMagic profiles.  I now have 52,726 persons in my RootsMagic file, and 102,592 source citations.   I TreeShared two times during the last week (about 220 profiles), and resolved about 780 Ancestry Hints.  I've fallen behind on the Ancestry Record Hints with 102,845 to be resolved, but I work on them weekly.

10) Wrote 21 Genea-Musings blog posts last week, of which two were press releases.  The most popular post last week was
Can AncestryDNA's ThruLines Find Cousins From Potential Ancestors?  with over 374 views.
