Dozens of genealogy and family history bloggers write thousands of posts every week about their research, their families, and their interests. I appreciate each one of them and their efforts.
My criteria for "Best of ..." are pretty simple - I pick posts that advance knowledge about genealogy and family history, address current genealogy issues, provide personal family history, are funny or are poignant. I don't list posts destined for daily blog prompts or meme submissions (but I do include summaries of them), or my own posts.
Here are my picks for great reads from the genealogy blogs for this past week:
* 3 Simple Rules for Managing Your Digital Genealogy Documents by DiAnn Iamarino on the Fortify Your Family Tree blog.
* Genealogy Tip: Researching Ancestors from the Civil War’s Grand Army of the Republic by Gena Philibert-Ortega on the GenealogyBank Blog.
* Vigo County Public Library by Don Taylor on the Don Taylor Genealogy blog.
* Ancestry® Unveils Over 225 New Communities for Members Who Have Ties to France, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand by the writers of the Ancestry.com Blog.
