Best of the Genea-Blogs - Week of 12 to 18 June 2022

One of the blog themes I really love doing is this one - I think that excellence should be recognized on a regular basis.  I started it back in September 2007 and have missed a few weeks.  Including the last two weeks - as I was hospitalized from 26 May to 7 June and had a quadrupal coronary artery bypass operation that will take 6-8 weeks to fully recover from.

Scores of genealogy and family history bloggers write thousands of posts every week about their research, their families, and their interests. I appreciate each one of them and their efforts.

My criteria for "Best of ..." are pretty simple - I pick posts that advance knowledge about genealogy and family history, address current genealogy issues, provide personal family history, are funny or are poignant. I don't list posts destined for daily blog prompts or meme submissions (but I do include summaries of them), or my own posts.

Here are my picks for great reads from the genealogy blogs for this past week:

*  Edna Estes Miller (1920-1990), Sister: Once Found, Twice Lost – 52 Ancestors #361 by Roberta Estes on DNAeXplained - Genetic Genealogy.

Converting Base Pairs to Centimorgans by Louis Kessler on Behold Genealogy.

*  My Mom’s DNA and Genealogical Connection to Katja by Joel Hartley on Hartley DNA & Genealogy.

Massachusetts Deeds and et al Deed by Marcia Philbrick on Heartland Genealogy.

*  7 Days to a Better Family Tree by DiAnn Iamarino on Fortify Your Family Tree.

One Simple Genealogy Research Habit: Are You Doing It? by Lisa Lisson on Are You My Cousin?

A Matter of Friendship by Judy G. Russell on The Legal Genealogist.

*  Historical Record Collections Added in April and May 2022 by Talya on MyHeritage Blog.

*  It’s Back! RootsTech 2023 Will Be Both Online and In-Person on FamilySearch Blog.

*  Historical U.S. Draft Registration and Enrollment Rules by Kenneth Marks on The Ancestor Hunt.

*  Find More Ancestors with Autosomal DNA by Increasing Coverage by Nicole Dyer on Family Locket.

Here are pick posts by other geneabloggers this week:

*  Friday's Family History Finds by Linda Stufflebean on Empty Branches on the Family Tree.

*  Friday Fossicking - 17th June 2022 by Crissouli on That Moment In Time.

* This Week's Creme de la Creme - June 18, 2022  by Gail Dever on Genealogy a la Carte.

Readers are encouraged to go to the blogs listed above and  read their articles, and add the blogs to your Favorites, Feedly, another RSS feed, or email if you like what you read. Please make a comment to them also - all bloggers appreciate feedback on what they write.

Did I miss a great genealogy blog post? Tell me! I currently am reading posts from over 900 genealogy bloggers using Feedly, but I still miss quite a few it seems.
