"Lyle's San Diego Dreams" - A Genealogy Poem and Song Created by Artificial Intelligence

I've used FREE Artificial Intelligence tools to create biographies, poems and songs about genealogy and family history in the recent past. Today, I want to share a poem and a song about  my grandfather, Lyle Lawrence Carringer (1891-1976):

The image above was created in Microsoft CoPilot using a short prompt.

I requested Perplexity (a FREE AI tool) to create a poem about my grandfather, Lyle Lawrence Carringer (1891-1976).  Here is the prompt:

Write a poem about Lyle Lawrence Carringer, born 2 Nov 1891 in San Diego, parents Henry Austin and Della (Smith) Carringer, graduated San diego high School in 1914, worked at Marston's dept store in San Diego from 1905 to 1960 as a cash boy, floorwalker, accountant and auditor, enlisted in US Marines Reserve in 1917, married Emily Auble in 1918 in San Diego, one child - daughter Betty born in 1919, built a home on Fern Street in 1920, interested in family history, U S and world history, geography, driving, gardening, stamp collecting, automobiles, cameras, photography, home movies, happy when Betty married Fred Seaver, built home in Point Loma in 1951, enjoyed three grandsons, died 1976 in San Diego at 85, a hardy, enterprising, disciplined, kind, gentle man, who loved his family

Here is the poem created by Perplexity:

LYLE'S SAN DIEGO DREAMS

Born in San Diego's golden light,
Lyle Carringer grew with the city's might.
From Marston's cash boy to auditor true,
His work ethic strong, his loyalty grew.

In eighteen ninety one, his journey began,
A boy with big dreams, a diligent plan.
With parents Henry and Della by his side,
In their loving embrace, he learned to abide.

Graduating high school in fourteen's bright dawn,
With ambition and courage, he carried on.
In the bustling department store, he found his place,
Navigating life with a smile on his face.

A Marine in '17, he answered the call,
With courage and honor, he stood proud and tall.
Through trials and service, he forged a new way,
Defending his country, come what may.

In '18, love blossomed, a wedding so sweet,
With Emily Auble, their hearts skipped a beat.
Together they built a life filled with cheer,
Their daughter Betty, their joy crystal clear.

A home on Fern Street, a sanctuary made,
With laughter and love, their memories laid.
Gardening flourished, as did their dreams,
In the warmth of the sun, life flowed like streams.

History and geography sparked his keen mind,
In stamps and cameras, treasures he'd find.
Driving through countryside, capturing sights,
Home movies and photos, preserving delights.

As Betty grew older, her heart found a mate,
Fred Seaver entered, a love truly great.
With three grandsons, his heart swelled with pride,
In Point Loma's embrace, family thrived side by side.

A gentle soul with discipline's grace,
Lyle's kindness touched every place.
Through laughter and stories, his spirit remains,
In the hearts of his loved ones, his legacy reigns.

From 1891 to '76, he lived and thrived,
A San Diego story, beautifully derived.
Hardy, enterprising, family his core,
Lyle Carringer's legacy forevermore.

In the tapestry of life, his threads intertwine,
A man of great heart, forever will shine.
With each cherished memory, his love will endure,
In the hearts of his family, steadfast and pure.

And here is an AI song and lyrics, created from a limited prompt of 200 characters on Suno.com, using a heartfelt melodic pop style:

[Verse 1]
Born in San Diego
A boy with dreams to grow
Son of Austin and Della
In a gentle flow

[Verse 2]
Loving Emily wedded
In nineteen eighteen they bounded
With love so free and famed
Their baby Betty came

[Chorus]
Life of kindness diligence
Happy and hearty resilience
In Point Loma they stayed
In love they always played

[Verse 3]
An accountant through the years
Numbers through joy and tears
Three grandsons filled with cheer
His legacy held dear

[Bridge]
Oh the days would softly pass
With memories to amass
Gentle spirit strong and true
Lyle we remember you

[Verse 4]
Through every storm he stood
With love he always could
A life of gentle grace
Forever in this place

Here are my blog posts with the AI-created poems and songs to date:

I have several more songs online at Suno.com (play all of them at   https://suno.com/@skeletalvenue315).

These stories, told in verse and song, are part of my genealogy and family research.  My hope is that they will be passed down to my grandchildren and their descendants to highlight the importance of sharing stories, memories and love of our ancestors.  I will add them to my Google Drive and to my YouTube channel and my FOREVER account.
