Tuesday's Tip - the Genealogy In Time Search Engine

This week's Tuesday's Tip is:  Use the Genealogy In Time (www.GenealogyInTime.com) free search engines to find genealogy related results.

There are three search engines on the Genealogy In Time website:

*  Genealogy Search Engine (http://www.genealogyintime.com/GenealogyResources/Tools/free_genealogy_search_engine.html) -- searches websites like Find-A-Grave, USGenweb Archives, Legacy.com, Chronicling America, Old Fulton Postcards, etc.

*  Family Tree Search Engine (http://www.genealogyintime.com/GenealogyResources/Tools/free_family_tree_search_engine.html) -- searches RootsWeb WorldConnect, Ancestry Message Boards, Family Tree Maker user pages, Family History Library Catalog, GenForum message boards, etc.

*  Rare Book Search Engine (http://www.genealogyintime.com/GenealogyResources/Tools/rare_book_search_engine.html) -- more than 80 million books in this database.  Search by author, title, keyword or ISBN.

In the Genealogy and Family Tree search engines, the user can use quote marks for exact results, operators, whole word wild cards, etc.

While these search engines are limited to only the selected websites searched (and I did not find a list of them), they are useful to separate the "genealogy wheat" from the "Google chaff."

Genealogy In Time also provides articles like Searching Online for Your Ancestors and  A Guide to Performing Genealogy Searches to help users be successful in their search efforts.
