Treasure Chest Thursday -- 1781 Marriage of Jacob Zavering and Elisabeth Bikel in Oldwick, New Jersey

It's Treasure Chest Thursday - a chance to look in my digital image files to see what treasures I can find for my family history and genealogy musings.

The treasure today is the 1781 marriage record of Jacob Zavering and Elisabeth Bikel in the
Zion Lutheran Church records in Oldwick, New Jersey:
The Zavering/Bikel marriage entry:

The transcription of this record is:

Jacob Zavering & Elisabeth Bikel, same date* [1 March 1781]

The asterisk (*) after "date" means "after three proclamations."

The source citation for this record is:

George Roger Gilbert, "Zion Lutheran Church Records at Oldwick, NJ," database, Home of George Roger Gilbert (http://rogergilbert1.tripod.com/ : accessed 1 October 2015), Marriages, page 6 of 31, Jacob Zavering and Elisabeth Bikel, 1781.

This is a Derivative Source entry in an online database developed from transcribed records found online at the website Home of George Roger Gilbert, which contains transcriptions from this article (which I don't have a copy of):

Norman C. Wittwer and D. A. Sinclair, "Marriage Records of the Zion Lutheran Church at Oldwick," Genealogical Magazine of New Jersey, Volume 40, page 10, Jacob Zavering and Elisabeth Bikel entry.

Jacob Zavering/Sovereen (1759-1851) and Elisabeth Bikel/Pickel (1764-1849) are my 5th great-grandparents, through their son Frederick Sovereign (1786-1875) who married Mary Jane Hutchison (1792-1868) in 1810 in London district, Upper Canada.
