Here is this week's edition of "Seavers in the News" - a weekly feature from the historical newspapers about persons with the surname Seaver that are interesting, useful, mysterious, fun, macabre, or add information to my family tree database.

This obituary provides a very cursory summary of Arthur Seaver's life and achievements with some family information.
Arthur Herbert Seaver (1894-1978) was born 16 September 1894 in Doss, Iowa, the son of Seaver Knut and Emma Engelborg (Paulson) Seaver. Arthur died 30 August 1978 in Delavan, Wisconsin. He married Rose Bieber (1898-1980) in about 1920 in Wisconsin. They had four children:
* Herbert James Seaver (1922-1968), married 1948 Violet Mildred Ruhff (1922-1987).
* Eleanor Seaver (1925-????).
* Robert Harold Seaver (1927-1986), married 1953 Dorothy Mae Lee (1931-2004).
* Myron Paul Seaver (1938-2021), married 1964 Sylvia Diane White (1944-????).
Arthur Herbert Seaver (1894-1978) is not a Seaver relation to me - his paternal great-grandfather was Knute Sjursen Varme Seaver who was born in 1826 in Ytre Kvarme, Voss, Norway.
There are over 10,000 Seaver "stories" in my family tree - and this is one of them. Life happens, accidentally and intentionally, and sometimes a person's obituary is pretty sparse with little about the person's occupation, associations, or accomplishments. I am glad that I can honor Arthur Herbert Seaver today.
You never know when a descendant or relative will find this blog post and learn something about their ancestors or relatives, or will provide more information about them to me.
