Here are the highlights of my family history and genealogy related activities over the past week.
1) Attended the Chula Vista Genealogical Society (CVGS) Board Meeting on Wednesday and reported on the monthly Newsletter, Research Group and DNA Interest Group.
2) Wrote, edited and published the September 2024 issue of the CVGS Family History Gazette newsletter and distributed it on Saturday to the membership.
3) Attended the San Diego Genealogical Society (SDGS) DNA Interest Group meeting on Saturday with Colin Whitney, who presented "Distant Matches and Setting Up MyHeritage."
4) Participated in Mondays With Myrt last Monday (2 September), and we discussed writing an effective query, one-name studies, DNA shared match tool, my comparison of my transcription of a handwritten will with AI transcriptions, Canada land and probatew records, and more.
5) Transcribed the 1875 Deed of William Lewis Sovereen to Abraham James Kemp for Land in Norfolk County, Ontario for the Amanuensis Monday theme.
15) Wrote 20 Genea-Musings blog posts last week (Sunday through Saturday), of which three were a press release. The most viewed post last week was "Frederick's Life Journey" - A Genealogy Poem and Song Created by Artificial Intelligence with over 171 views. Genea-Musings had about 174,000 page views last week and over 972,000 views for the past month.
