FamilySearch showed a video at RootsTech about the 1940 U.S. Census in hopes that volunteers would step up to index it. Here is the one that is currently on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=SB4dCZvGn10

I signed up while I was at RootsTech to be an indexer for the first time. I've never done this before, but I know my way around the censuses and know the hardship of trying to figure out different handwritting styles and bad spellings (escpecially mid 1800's Alabama records). I hope everyone will give this a try and hopefully the 1940 census will be indexed by October 2012.
